Healthy Lunch: Apple Cheddar Panini


Chef Amy Riolo for the US Apple Association shows us how to incorporate Apples into a healthy lifestyle. This video focuses on how to make a Apple-Cheddar Panini. This is a low fat apple preparation which can be made as a quick lunch or a snack and kids would also love this healthy food apple preparation.

Healthy Meals: Apple Cheddar Panini Recipe

Ingredients:
8 slices whole-grain bread
1/4 low-fat honey mustard
2 crisp apples, thinly sliced
8 oz low-fat cheddar cheese, thinly sliced
cooking spray

Directions:
1. Preheat panini press. Assemble paninis by spreading mustard on 4 slices of bread. Layer cheese and apples, top with bread slice. 

2. Spray press with cooking spray and grill paninis about 3 minutes. Serve.
