How to Make Jalepeno Corn Bread

Spicy hot jalapenos add an exciting dimension and “zing” to subtly sweet and warmly comforting corn bread. The green flecks and the spicy aroma also make this bread look, feel, smell, and taste extraordinary, you will impress yourself, your family, and your friends with other healthy meals.

This is a delicious healthy food snack on its own but also perfect for accompanying soup, meat, or chili dishes. Top it with cheese for an extra delicious bite, although this recipe already makes use of cheddar cheese and sour cream, which is included in making the dough.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 cup Cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 cup jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
1/2 cup corn oil

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

2. In a mixing bowl, measure corn meal, baking soda, and salt. Add remaining ingredients and beat slightly. The ingredients should be incorporated but slightly lumpy.

3. Pour into a greased 13 x 9-inch casserole dish. Bake 30 to 40 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.

  1. Making bread out of jalepenos and corn never touched my mind. But after tasting it, it turned out great!
